Qur’anic Ayat on Extremism in Religion (Balance & No Excess)
The Qur’an clearly rejects extremism (غلو) and teaches a path of balance, moderation, truth, and justice, making تجاوز (going beyond limits) a blameworthy act in religion and life.

5:77 | قُلْ يَـٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَا تَغْلُوا۟ فِى دِينِكُمْ غَيْرَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَ قَوْمٍۢ قَدْ ضَلُّوا۟… | Say: O People of the Book! Do not exceed the limits in your religion beyond the truth, and do not follow the desires of people who went astray… | کہہ دو: اے اہلِ کتاب! اپنے دین میں ناحق حد سے نہ بڑھو اور ان لوگوں کی خواہشات کی پیروی نہ کرو جو گمراہ ہو چکے… | Di: ¡Oh Gente del Libro! No excedan los límites en su religión más allá de la verdad… |
2:143 | وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ أُمَّةًۭ وَسَطًۭا لِّتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ… | And thus We have made you a middle (balanced) الأمة so that you may be witnesses over mankind… | اور اسی طرح ہم نے تمہیں ایک درمیانی (اعتدال والی) امت بنایا… | Así os hemos hecho una comunidad moderada (equilibrada)… |
7:31 | يَـٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ خُذُوا۟ زِينَتَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍۢ وَكُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ وَلَا تُسْرِفُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ | O children of Adam! Eat and drink but do not be excessive. Indeed, He does not like those who commit excess. | اے بنی آدم! کھاؤ اور پیو مگر حد سے نہ بڑھو، بے شک اللہ حد سے بڑھنے والوں کو پسند نہیں کرتا | ¡Oh hijos de Adán! Coman y beban pero no sean excesivos; Allah no ama a los excesivos |
6:141 | … كُلُوا۟ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثْمَرَ وَءَاتُوا۟ حَقَّهُۥ يَوْمَ حَصَادِهِۦ وَلَا تُسْرِفُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ | Eat of their fruit when they ripen, but give its due on harvest day and do not be excessive. Indeed, He does not like those who commit excess. | اس کے پھل میں سے کھاؤ جب وہ پھل لائے اور اس کا حق ادا کرو، اور حد سے نہ بڑھو… | Coman de su fruto cuando madure… pero no sean excesivos; Allah no ama a los excesivos |
25:67 | وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا۟ وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا۟ وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ قَوَامًۭا | And those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor miserly but hold a medium way between them. | اور وہ جب خرچ کرتے ہیں نہ فضول خرچی کرتے ہیں نہ بخل بلکہ درمیانی راہ اختیار کرتے ہیں | Y cuando gastan, no son derrochadores ni avaros, sino que toman un camino medio |
16:90 | إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَٱلْإِحْسَٰنِ… وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱلْبَغْىِ | Indeed, Allah commands justice, excellence… and forbids immorality, wrongdoing, and transgression. | بے شک اللہ انصاف اور احسان کا حکم دیتا ہے… اور بے حیائی، برائی اور زیادتی سے روکتا ہے | En verdad, Allah ordena la justicia y la excelencia… y prohíbe la inmoralidad y la transgresión |
