Youth in the Qur’an

Youth can be the strongest believers — Ashab al-Kahf (18:13) → young but firm in faith

Growth = responsibility

  • Youth must be tested for maturity (4:6)

Early wisdom is possible

  • Prophet Yahya given wisdom as a child (19:12)

Maturity brings knowledge & responsibility

  • Yusuf & Musa → wisdom after reaching full strength

Al-Kahf 18:13 (Young believers – Ashab al-Kahf)
نَّحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ نَبَأَهُم بِالْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ فِتْيَةٌ آمَنُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ وَزِدْنَاهُمْ هُدًى
We relate to you their story in truth. Indeed, they were young men who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance.
ہم تمہیں ان کا قصہ سچ کے ساتھ سناتے ہیں، بے شک وہ چند نوجوان تھے جو اپنے رب پر ایمان لائے اور ہم نے ان کی ہدایت میں اضافہ کیا۔
Te contamos su historia con verdad. Eran jóvenes que creyeron en su Señor y aumentamos su guía.
Yusuf 12:36 (Young men in prison)
وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ السِّجْنَ فَتَيَانِ ۖ قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا إِنِّي أَرَانِي أَعْصِرُ خَمْرًا ۖ وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ إِنِّي أَرَانِي أَحْمِلُ فَوْقَ رَأْسِي خُبْزًا تَأْكُلُ الطَّيْرُ مِنْهُ ۖ نَبِّئْنَا بِتَأْوِيلِهِ ۖ إِنَّا نَرَاكَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
And there entered the prison with him two young men. One said: Indeed, I saw myself pressing wine. The other said: Indeed, I saw myself carrying bread on my head from which birds were eating. Inform us of its interpretation; indeed we see you as one of the good-doers.
اور اس کے ساتھ دو نوجوان قید خانے میں داخل ہوئے۔ ایک نے کہا: میں نے دیکھا کہ میں شراب نچوڑ رہا ہوں، اور دوسرے نے کہا: میں نے دیکھا کہ میں اپنے سر پر روٹی اٹھائے ہوئے ہوں جسے پرندے کھا رہے ہیں۔ ہمیں اس کی تعبیر بتاؤ، بے شک ہم تمہیں نیک لوگوں میں سے دیکھتے ہیں۔
Entraron con él en la prisión dos jóvenes. Uno dijo: Me vi exprimiendo vino. El otro dijo: Me vi llevando pan sobre mi cabeza del cual comían las aves. Infórmanos de su interpretación; te vemos de los que hacen el bien.
An-Nisa 4:6 (Test maturity of youth)
وَابْتَلُوا الْيَتَامَىٰ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا بَلَغُوا النِّكَاحَ فَإِنْ آنَسْتُم مِّنْهُمْ رُشْدًا فَادْفَعُوا إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَالَهُمْ
Test the orphans until they reach marriageable age; then if you perceive in them sound judgment, release their property to them…
اور یتیموں کو آزماتے رہو یہاں تک کہ وہ نکاح کی عمر کو پہنچ جائیں، پھر اگر تم ان میں سمجھداری دیکھو تو ان کے مال انہیں واپس کر دو۔
Poned a prueba a los huérfanos hasta que alcancen la edad de casarse; si percibís en ellos madurez, entregadles sus bienes.
Maryam 19:12 (Youth of Yahya)
يَا يَحْيَىٰ خُذِ الْكِتَابَ بِقُوَّةٍ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا
O Yahya, take the Scripture with determination. And We gave him wisdom while yet a boy.
اے یحییٰ! کتاب کو مضبوطی سے تھام لو، اور ہم نے اسے بچپن ہی میں حکمت عطا کی۔
¡Oh Juan! Toma el Libro con firmeza. Y le dimos sabiduría siendo aún niño.
Yusuf 12:22 (Youth maturity of Yusuf)
وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
And when he reached maturity, We gave him wisdom and knowledge. Thus do We reward the doers of good.
اور جب وہ اپنی پوری جوانی کو پہنچے تو ہم نے انہیں حکمت اور علم عطا کیا، اور ہم نیک لوگوں کو اسی طرح بدلہ دیتے ہیں۔
Cuando alcanzó la madurez, le dimos sabiduría y conocimiento. Así recompensamos a los que hacen el bien.
Al-Qasas 28:14 (Youth maturity of Musa)
وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَاسْتَوَىٰ آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ
And when he reached maturity and was fully developed, We gave him wisdom and knowledge. Thus do We reward the doers of good.
اور جب وہ اپنی جوانی کو پہنچے اور کامل ہو گئے تو ہم نے انہیں حکمت اور علم عطا کیا، اور ہم نیک لوگوں کو اسی طرح بدلہ دیتے ہیں۔
Cuando alcanzó su madurez completa, le dimos sabiduría y conocimiento. Así recompensamos a los que hacen el bien.
